The Tour Policy Page Explained: Rules Every Jamega Entrant Should Read First

Before you pay your entry fee for any Jamega Tour event, you click a box confirming you have read the Tour Policy page. Most players skim it. That is a mistake. The policy is the contract between you and the Tour, and it covers everything from how you enter to how you get paid. Here is what you are actually agreeing to.

Eligibility and Amateur Status

The first section sets out who can tee it up. Professionals must hold a recognised professional status, while amateurs must have a handicap low enough to compete and must not have accepted prize money in breach of their national federation's rules. If you are an amateur entering a pro event, you are playing for experience and order of merit points, not cash.

The policy also confirms that entrants must be a member of a recognised golf club or scheme and must provide accurate details at the point of entry. False information can lead to disqualification without refund, so check your handicap and status before you submit.

Entry, Fees and Balloting

Entries are accepted on a first-come, first-served basis until the field is full. Once the field closes, a reserve list is created. If you withdraw, the timing decides whether you get a refund.

  • Withdraw more than seven days before the event: full refund, less an admin fee.
  • Withdraw within seven days: refund only if your place is filled.
  • No-show without notice: no refund and possible suspension.

The policy states that entry fees are non-transferable and that the Tour may ballot out players if an event is oversubscribed. Balloted players are refunded in full.

Code of Conduct and Pace of Play

The conduct section is the one players fall foul of most often. It covers mobile phones, dress code, social media posts and behaviour towards staff and fellow competitors. Slow play is treated seriously, and repeated bad times can lead to penalty strokes or fines.

"Players are responsible for knowing the rules and for maintaining the pace of the group behind them."

If you are reported under the code of conduct, the policy sets out the disciplinary process, including the right to respond before any sanction is applied.

Prize Fund and Payment

The prize fund is published before each event and is paid by bank transfer, usually within fourteen days of the final round. Amateurs receive vouchers or credit rather than cash, in line with their status. The policy explains that prizes are subject to the Tour's payment schedule and that ties are resolved by a countback or a playoff, depending on the event.

  1. Check the published prize breakdown before entering.
  2. Confirm your bank details in your player profile.
  3. Query any shortfall within thirty days of payment.

Data, Media and Changes to the Policy

By entering, you consent to the Tour using your name, scores and images for results, promotion and live scoring. The policy explains how your data is stored and how you can request corrections. It also reserves the right to update the rules, with changes published on the site and applying to future events.
